Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems For Caravans & Towing

When towing you have two sets of tyre pressures to maintain, your vehicle and the trailer whether it be a caravan, boat, horse float or any other type of trailer. You can choose to monitor the pressure and temperature of the tyres on your trailer only if your vehicle already has factory TPMS fitted or you can purchase a TPMS kit that monitors both your vehicle and trailer tyres.

When equipped, our TPMS sensors for caravans and towing help keep you alert to any tyre abnormalities immediately. This allows you to address the issue instantly and save the vehicle, trailer, yourself as the driver, passengers and children from serious and irreparable damage.

The TYREDOG™ caravan and trailer TPMS Sensors and Monitors are the most highly regarded offroad and onroad pieces of equipment that can save you from a trip-ruining experience. When installed, you have complete confidence in all your tyres knowing that you're being guarded by a TYREDOG™.

When you purchase a Caravan and Trailer TPMS kit from TyreDog, you have Australian support, Australian Service and Australian Warranty. Need a hand finding the right monitoring system? Contact us today.

The value of maintaining optimal tyre pressure

As caravan experts we understand the importance of maintaining correct tyre pressures and building a robust TPMS product that works time after time.

Advantages a TPMS kit provides when towing

  • Under inflated tyres wear faster than correctly inflated tyres, reducing tyre replacement times.
  • Under inflated tyres reduce effective handling of the caravan or towed vehicle, increasing the brake distance and increasing the chance of blowouts.
  • Installing a monitoring system on your tyres to ensure they are properly inflated improves your vehicle's fuel efficiency, saving you money on running costs.

Caravan & Trailer TPMS FAQs

What trailer or caravan tyre pressure monitoring system kit do I need?

If you want to monitor the tyres on your trailer / caravan only then you would need either a TD-2700F-X02 (2) Wheel TPMS Kit or TD-2700F-X04 (4) Wheel TPMS Kit. If you wanted to monitor your 4x4 / passengers vehicle and trailer / caravan then you would need either a TD-2700F-X06 (6) Wheel TPMS Kit or TD-2700F-X08 (8) Wheel TPMS Kit. With these systems, you would need to mount the relay module underneath the rear of you vehicle. If you tow multiple trailers and you don't want to switch sensors between your different trailers then we would recommend a TD-2700F-X04 (4) Wheel TPMS kit for your vehicle and either the TD-RY2700F-X02 (2) Wheel Addon Trailer kit or TD-RY2700F-X04 (4) Wheel Addon Trailer kit for your trailers.

What should the Low Pressure, High Pressure & High Temperature alarms be set to?

Alarm Thresholds can be set for each axle meaning you can set different values for the front and rear tyres if required. Please refer to our Pressure Table on our FAQ page for some recommended settings which can be used as a guide for setting your thresholds.
